The My Grandparents’ Garden workshops were designed to engage with underheard members of the community (in their neighborhoods), listen to their food stories, invite them to the larger community conversations, and use their stories to inform our discussions. The goal was to learn what relationships our neighbors had with food production. Each of these workshops were facilitated with the assistance of the Penn State Agricultural Extension.

These workshop participants included children and adults, they generally came from a low household income (but the overall range was wide), were mostly from urban areas, and were roughly 60/40 persons of color to white.
